Curriculum Policy・Diploma policy

1.Achievement goal at the time of graduation

  • Students who can explore and collect unexplained “evidence” which is essential to the practice and development of health science based on a scientific foundation.
  • Students who can develop interdisciplinary coordination and carry out cooperation and research beyond job types, to explore evidence, and deepen and develop one’s own specialty.

2.Policy on education course formulation

 The purpose of the common subjects is the pursuit of evidence, and to acquire meaning and methodology in the coordination and cooperation beyond the expertise.
 Specialized subjects consist of specialized lectures, specialized lecture practice, specialized research in affiliated fields with the purpose of providing integrated guidance in the preparation of a doctoral thesis.

3.Criteria for performance evaluation

  • Accreditation of a class is carried out by written (oral) test or report.
  • Examinations are carried out by the teacher in charge of the class subject as needed.
  • Grading of each class is set as 5 types- Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair, and Poor, with Superior, Excellent, Good, and Fair determined to be passing.

Superior (score of 100-90) High level specialized academic knowledge and ability are acquired and can be mutually applied.
Excellent (score of 89-80) High level specialized academic knowledge and ability can be applied.
Good (score of 79-70) High level specialized academic knowledge is acquired.
Fair (score pf 69-60) The required minimum specialized academic knowledge is acquired.
Poor (score of 59-0) The required minimum specialized academic knowledge and ability are not acquired.

4.Academic screening

Evaluation of a thesis for a degree shall be strictly carried out by a review board comprised of a chief examiner and three vice-examiners, and a final examination.

【Department of Nursing Sciences】

1.教育課程の概要
Human resources who can deepen the wide field of nursing science and its specialized knowledge and ethics, advance original and interdisciplinary research autonomously as an instructor and researcher, maintain and enhance people’s health, and improve quality of life (QOL) based on a scientific foundation are trained.
2.Achievement goals
1) Knowledge and understanding
  • Acquisition and systemization of high level knowledge and skill in the nursing science field.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and skill in education and research methods in the nursing science field.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and skill regarding ethics and management in the health, medical, and welfare fields.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and skill needed in the coordination with other related fields.
2) Characteristic abilities of the corresponding field
  • Practice original and interdisciplinary research in the nursing science field autonomously, and return the achievements to society, and transmit them internationally.
  • Practice education and research guidance for high level experts in the nursing science field.
  • Implement high level medical practice based on “evidence” in nursing and health science.
  • Discern issues which require solution with foresight, analyze them ethically, scientifically, and creatively.
  • Cooperatively work with other job types in health, medicine and welfare, and play a leading role in a medical team.
3) General abilities
  • Act autonomously as an educator and researcher in the nursing science field, and fulfill one’s social responsibility.
  • Has the communication skills and logical thinking ability needed by a high level specialized professional.
  • Through research achievement in the nursing science field, contribute to the establishment and development of nursing and health science.

【Department of Bio-information Sciences】

1.Outline of the Education Course
 Human resources with new ideas and creative thinking ability unfettered by a specific field, who can pursue evidence regarding biological information and vital functions related human “life activities,” by utilizing scientific analysis methods in a complementary coordination and cooperation beyond the boundaries of job types are trained to address issues in today’s healthcare, as well as seeking to further deepen health science as a scientific field.
2.Achievement goals
1) Knowledge and understanding
  • Carry out education and research as a science built on evidence.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and skill needed as an educator or researcher in a specialized field.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and skill of a specialized field at the international level.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and skill needed for interdisciplinary and lateral coordination.
2) Characteristic abilities of the corresponding field
  • Develop critical ability, scientific analysis ability, and expression ability needed as an educator and researcher.
  • Develop the ability to promote advanced academic research which can be applied internationally.
  • Develop the ability to provide education and research for high level health care professionals.
3) General abilities
  • Act autonomously as an educator and researcher in a specialized field, and carry out one’s responsibility as a member of society.
  • Can acquire abilities needed for presentation and communication at international events.
  • Through education and research activities in the specialized field, contribute to the development of health science.

【Department of Biomedical Sciences】

1.Outline of the Education course
 Educators and researchers who are eager to accomplish original and high quality researches on analysis of bimolecular function and clinical state, have high level expertise and ethical view, and who can play active roles in and out Japan in field of bioscience and laboratory medicine, are trained to contribute to the health and happiness of man.
2.Achievement goals
1) Knowledge and understanding
  • Acquire high level professional knowledge needed as an educator or researcher in the bioscience and laboratory medicine field.
  • Acquire knowledge and skills which have become the international standard in the bioscience and laboratory medicine fields.
  • Acquire knowledge and skill to respond to interdisciplinary research.
2) Characteristic abilities of the corresponding field
  • Can evaluate various research results objectively and critically.
  • Can acquire the ability to provide instruction in education and research in the bioscience and laboratory medicine fields.
  • Can acquire the ability to promote advanced academic research.
3) General abilities
  • Can contribute to society as an autonomous educator and researcher.
  • Develop communication abilities in English to discuss with researchers in Japan and abroad.
  • As a life scientist with high ethics and a strong sense of responsibility, acquire the ability to transmit research achievement internationally.

【Department of Comprehensive Rehabilitation Sciences】

1.Outline of the Education course
 Human resources who can deepen the wide field of rehabilitation science achievement and its specialized knowledge and ethics based on physical therapy and occupational therapy, and who can “search and collect evidence” which is essential in the practice and development of rehabilitation (Evidenced Based Rehabilitation) based on a scientific foundation, are trained for the maintenance and enhancement people’s health, to prevent or reduce motor and mental disorders, and improve (QOL).
2.Achievement goals
1) Knowledge and understanding
  • Acquisition and systemization of high level knowledge and skill in the rehabilitation science field.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and skill in education and research methods in the rehabilitation science field.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and skill regarding ethics and management in the health, medical, and welfare fields.
  • Acquisition of knowledge needed in the coordination with other related fields.
2) Characteristic abilities of the corresponding field
  • Practice original and interdisciplinary research in the rehabilitation science field autonomously, and return the achievements to society, and transmit them internationally.
