Admissions Policy

1. The concept of a student of the School of Health Science

 The purpose of the School of Health Science is to develop human resources who have acquired a high level of knowledge and skill in healthcare, are equipped with rich humanity and problem-solving ability, show creativity, originality, and an international viewpoint, and who can play an active role in society.
 In the development of such human resources, students who thoroughly understand the diploma policy and curriculum policy, are aware of the purpose of the training of healthcare professionals, are eager to contribute to society, have sufficient academic ability, strong intention and activity, a gentleness in consideration of others, and a social nature.
 The School of Health Science has five courses, Nursing, Radiological Technology, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy. The requirements of each course are listed below.

【Department of Nursing】

  • Persons with a fundamental academic ability needed to master nursing science, which is science in practice.
  • Persons who can exercise thinking ability, judgment, and expression, and can actively participate and cooperate in society.
  • Persons who seek to maintain their own health, can master the knowledge and skills, and are eager to grow in intelligence and personality.

【Department of Radiological Technology】

  • Persons with academic ability in order to master liberal arts and professional education that can be acquired after entrance for the development of a radiological technologist.
  • Persons with the ability to actively participate as a member of the team medical care, and cooperate with other medical technicians.
  • Persons with aspirations and curiosity in life, and are eager to grow in intelligence and personality.

【Department of Medical Technology】

  • Persons with sufficient, fundamental academic ability to master the knowledge and skills of a clinical laboratory technologist.
  • Persons who can show cooperation as an active member in team medical care, and can act positively for development of healthcare.
  • Persons who are eager to solve issues faced in the progress and development of healthcare.

【Department of Physical Therapy】

  • Persons interested in human health and body movement, and who are equipped with the basic academic ability to scientifically pursue physical therapy.
  • Persons who can develop an attitude based on respect, care and cooperation, and are willing to work on solving various issues facing persons with disabilities.
  • Persons with a strong will to become a physical therapist, and are highly motivated to contribute to the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.

【Department of Occupational Therapy】

  • Students with sufficient fundamental academic ability to master the knowledge and skill of an occupational therapist.
  • Students who can show cooperation as an active member in team medical care, and can act positively for development of rehabilitation medical care.
  • Students who are eager to solve issues faced in the progress and development of rehabilitation medical care.

2. Basic policy of student selection

 Regardless of the course of study, much of the academic curriculum of high school is needed as basic knowledge. For each student to aim to become a healthcare medical professional, basic communication skills are developed through learning Japanese, foreign languages (English, etc.), the ability to understand life phenomena by studying mathematics, science (physics, chemistry, biology, etc.), and ability to see conditions in society through the study of sociology (World history, Japanese history, ethics, politics, economics, etc.).
 
1) First semester schedule
 Entrants are selected according to their comprehensive results from the National Center Test, individual scholastic ability test and investigation report.
 Mainly, basic academic ability is evaluated by the score from the National Center Test, and thinking ability, reasoning skills, capacity to think logically, and writing ability are evaluated from the individual scholastic ability test.

2) AO entrance examination Ⅱ
 Entrants are selected according to their comprehensive results from the National Center Test, interview, short thesis and application documents (investigation report, self-PR).
 Mainly, basic academic ability is evaluated by the score from the National Center Test, capacity to think logically and expression ability are evaluated by short thesis, and qualities, aptitude, and eagerness as a healthcare professional are evaluated by interview and application documents (investigation report, self-PR).

3) Third year transfer
 Students transferring to this university are selected according to the comprehensive results of the academic test, short thesis, interview, and submitted documents, in order to evaluate the ability to improve and eagerness as a healthcare professional.
(Except for Physical Therapy, documents for submission are the basic interview material.)
